Michael C. Lowe, MD, MA, is an Associate Professor in the Division of Surgical Oncology of the Department of Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine and Director of the Melanoma Program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory. Dr. Lowe serves as a surgical oncologist with a primary focus on cutaneous malignancy at Winship Cancer Institue. He joined Emory after completing a fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY. Dr. Lowe holds memberships with American Society of Clinical Oncology, Association of Academic Surgery, Society of Surgical Oncology and American College of Surgeons. His research focuses on neoadjuvant therapies in cutaneous malignancies and he is principial investigator of numerous investigator-initiated, industry-sponsored and cooperative group clinical trials. Dr. Lowe is the Medical Director of the Emory Morningside Center for Innovatie and Afforable Medicine, which supports clinical trials using repurposed drugs in combination with conventional cancer therapies. He serves as the Director of Extramural Research Studies for the Emory University General Surgery Residency.
